handmade with LOVE and FUN!!!

Kumusta?” (How are you?) My name is Strozzi Abecel P. Rosende. I am into paintings, arts and crafts, graphic arts, floral arrangements and interior design. I was born and raised in the Philippines and has lived in this beautiful country for the whole 30 years of my life. I hail particularly from the island of Cebu where I live with my parents, my brother and my pets. I am the proud owner of five cats, five dogs and lots of chicken!

I graduated from the University of San Carlos where I got the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. While I started working as a freelance interior designer for a number of years, I stopped when I realized that I loved crafting more. So, I took every kind of art class being offered and tried all fields of arts and crafts from fashion designing to sewing, from sculpting to painting and even joined painting exhibits. I also did my share of wedding coordinating, decorating, flower arranging and furniture designing. I even went into photography. While I learned a lot and got to enjoy all of these fields, I felt more at home and happier with making jewelry. I got to deepen and broaden my skills in jewelry making when I took an extensive short course in Metal Workshop under the tutelage of German metal artist Ingrid Haufe.

I never thought that I would venture into the world of arts. When I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a nurse because my mom used to work as a nursing aid at a hospital. I was the kind of girl who liked to play alone when I was kid, because I was very shy. Because of this, I was able to spend more time with my pet cat and my cooking sets. When I got bored with my colorful toys, I drew and made paper dolls. I also made paper dresses for my dolls, which I sprinkled with silver dust. I also sculpted furniture for my paper dolls using mud, bamboo sticks and dried leaves. I guess this was when my artistic capabilities were born.

Right now, I am quite busy but having fun in spending my time making the orders of my buyers. I still do a lot of experimenting when it comes to developing new designs as well as in making other lines of craft. Despite my busy schedule, I still take time to play with my five cats, which I love dearly. During my breaks, I also go to ukay-ukay (surplus) shops, watch TV, attend fellowship gatherings and visit old historical places. I also frequent exhibits, go through fashion and interior design magazines and scan a lot of books in bookstores so that I can feed my mind with new and creative ideas. Of course, like a regular girl, I also go out with friends and cousins and do some partying with uncles and aunties.

This is me in a nutshell. I create jewelry to please not only people who love unique and handcrafted creations, but also myself because each item I make is like an extension of my person and comes from me to you with so much love.
